“Recognize God’s Defining Moments”
I believe God is always trying to get our attention. He wants us to depend on Him. But as human beings, we don’t like depending on anyone. We want to be in control of our own destiny. But because of our sinful nature, we will damage ourselves and others on the way to what we think our destiny should be. God has a plan for each of our lives. He wants to be involved in every step we take with Him. But we must trust Him and not ourselves.
Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” The most important thing we must understand is that we will deceive ourselves. That is hard to swallow. But just look at your past, and explain to yourself why you did the damaging things you did. Why did you hurt the people you hurt? Please don’t say because you’re human. Say because you’re sinful. You see, God’s defining moments come when we are in a painful situation caused by us or God. He wants us to look up to and realize how much we need Him to lead us throughout our life.
Look For Your Donkeys!
Numbers 22:25 - “When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaam’s foot against it. So he beat her again. Numbers 22:28, “The the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and she said to Balaam, ‘What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?’”
Isn’t typical to blame someone or something for the pain that we bring into our life by our own choices. Here Balaam’s foot gets crushed for his own good. If he pushed the donkey to move further on towards the angel, he would be dead. God caused the donkey to crush Balaam’s foot to get him to recognize God’s defining moment. Then God has the donkey open her mouth and speak in a human ‘s voice to Balaam. Balaam is so caught up in his pride that he has a conversation with the donkey. The the Lord opens Balaam’s eyes so he can see the angel down the way with a sword in hand. Now that God has Balaam’s attention He then gives Him direction for his life. Balaam follows it and starts on the right path with God. Sadly, later Balaam goes back to his old ways, and his choices destroy his life.
Get Compelled Now!
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 says, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised again.”
Christ’s love is that He died for each one of us so we can be saved from going to Hell and being separated forever from God. Do you see it that way? If not, you haven’t recognized God’s most important defining moment in your life. Get convinced that He died for you! It will change your life forever! To all Christians, stay convinced! If you don’t, Christ’s love won’t continue to compel you to live for God, our Father.
Life is short, then we get to go to Heaven!
Love, your brother in Christ,
