GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE LIGHT
1 Peter 2:9 says; “BUT YOU ARE A CHOSEN PEOPLE, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE BELONGING TO GOD, THAT YOU MAY DECLARE THE PRAISES OF HIM WHO CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS WONDERFUL LIGHT.”

If you are a Christian, you know you’re in the light. You know how you got into His wonderful light. But before you even began to look for God’s wonderful light you needed to understand that you were in the darkness. The Bible is very clear that there are only two places a person can be. That would be darkness or light. Darkness is the separation from God because of unforgiven sin. In Romans 3:23 it says; “FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD”. As you come to faith in what God tells us in His word about how to be saved, you understand that to enter into His light we need to repent of our sins and be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of sins and we then receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38) (Mark 16:16) When we are in God’s light, we have a relationship with God our Father. We can fully depend on His power to trust in Him and continue to live for Him.
GOD’S PEOPLE ARE NOT CYNICAL
1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 says; “FOR WE KNOW, BROTHERS LOVED BY GOD, THAT HE HAS CHOSEN YOU, BECAUSE OUR GOSPEL CAME TO YOU NOT SIMPLY WITH WORDS, BUT ALSO WITH POWER, WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND DEEP CONVICTION.”
When you know you are loved by God and that he chose you, and you have God’s power, his Holy Spirit and deep conviction we can have a faithful positive heart. When you know that the All POWERFUL GOD LOVES YOU PERSONALLY- you are motivated to repent of sin and strive to look to God’s word for hope and direction. Also, we have God’s church with disciples to fellowship with and get encouragement and advice. That is God’s plan. (Hebrews 10:23-25)
GOD’S PEOPLE EXPECT MIRACLES WHEN OTHERS LEAST EXPECT HIM
1 Kings 17: 2-4 says; “THEN THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO ELIJAH: “LEAVE HERE, TURN EASTWARD AND HIDE IN THE KERITH RAVINE, EAST OF THE JORDAN. YOU WILL DRINK FROM THE BROOK, AND I HAVE ORDERED THE RAVENS TO FEED YOU THERE.”

Here we see the prophet Elijah being told to leave the area after he confronted King Ahab. God tells him to go out in the desert. Without provisions, a person would not last long in a hot desolate desert. But Elijah had God provide for him even though he had no clue how or when God would come through for him. God orders ravens to bring him bread and meat in the morning and evening and gives him fresh water out of a brook. God will work miracles in your life if you totally and unconditionally trust in Him.
GOD’S PEOPLE DON’T HIDE THEIR SIN
In Joshua 7:22 says; “SO JOSHUA SENT MESSENGERS, AND THEY RAN TO THE TENT, AND THERE IT WAS, HIDDEN IN HIS TENT, WITH THE SILVER UNDERNEATH.”
Achan had disobeyed God. He took some things that God told him to completely destroy. He buried them under his tent and thought no one would find out. But God sees everything we do 24 hours a day. Hebrews 4:13 says; “NOTHING IN ALL CREATION IS HIDDEN FROM GOD’S SIGHT. EVERYTHING IS UNCOVERED AND LAID BARE BEFORE THE EYES OF HIM TO WHOM WE MUST GIVE ACCOUNT.”
Achan didn’t have the faith to believe that God would provide for him and his family. So he disobeyed God and took matters into his own hands. Trust that God will never put you in a situation where you have to sin to in order to survive. Remember, you are LOVED BY GOD AND CAN LOOK FOR THE LIGHT.
Life is a mist and then we get to go to heaven,
Love- your brother in Christ,
