The Phoenix International Christian Church served the homeless with water, food and clothing on June 20th for our inagural MERCY Day.
What does Jesus want everyone to become? It is obvious he wants us to become a disciple. It doesn’t matter where you come from in the world, what your race is, or what your beliefs are. What matters is what your decision will be. Jesus has been sent by God to show us how to be saved and have a relationship with Him. Once we become a disciple, we then follow His plan to make others disciples. Nothing is more important on earth than this quest to seek and save souls from going to Hell.
Today we are sending some amazing young men and women who have been shining examples here in our Phoenix Church to go and be with the City of Angels Los Angeles Christian Church to help them start up a church in the Long Beach area. (Mike Patterson, Anthony Patterson, Gary Wolfolk, Colton Rohn, Chenelle Blair, Ashley Godwin and Theresa Capistrant) They will reach out on the Long Beach University campus and prayerfully start a new campus ministry there. There are some members from the LA church that will also be with them there. We will miss them, but we understand that this is what disciples of Jesus do. They are willing to go anywhere, do anything and give up everything to advance the Kingdom of God. Luke 14:33 says “In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. We will miss them very much. God’s speed to them as they continue to serve God and His church in LA”.
“Training yourself to be Godly”
“Have nothing to do with Godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be Godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
